The St Joseph University Parish Youth Ministry program is a joint program with St. Margaret Mary and St. Patrick parishes. The name of the program is JUMMP Youth Ministry which is a combination of the parish names (Joseph University Margaret Mary Patrick). As a combined group, meetings are held at the St. Patrick Moran Family Life Center.
Youth Ministry provides opportunities to the high school youth of each parish to grow in their faith by attending religious education classes on Sundays. Social and service activities are offered for young people on the parish level and in conjunction with other youth groups in the Deanery in an effort to build community. The youth of the parish are also encouraged to attend and participate in Archdiocesan activities and at National Conferences. Retreats are also offered annually on a city-wide, deanery-wide and archdiocesan basis.
Confirmation is celebrated every other year within the Terre Haute Deanery, and all Catholic high school students who are juniors or seniors are invited to prepare and join in the celebration of this sacrament. Parishioners help by being sponsors and/or catechists for these candidates and through their prayerful support.
Youths in grades 9 – 12 who have not received all of the following sacraments (Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist) should contact the Director of Youth Ministry.
