Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is a process for adults who, “after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts.” Through the gradual process of prayer, worship, listening, reflection, and study adults are led into the Roman Catholic tradition for the living out of their Christian lives. The entire parish community helps support the catechumens and candidates throughout the process by prayer and worship and in particular ways as sponsors and team members. The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults meets weekly on Wednesdays.

Sponsors for Order of Christian Initiation of Adults

It is essential for catechumens and candidates in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults process to each have a sponsor who will be able to journey with them during their conversion. Attending sessions, enveloping relationship as a companion, and prayerful support are part of being a sponsor.

Adult Confirmation Team

Catholics, who choose not to be confirmed in their high school years, are afforded the opportunity to engage in and complete the process of confirmation either through the Campus Ministry program, in the case of college students, or, if not students, to go through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults process. Parishioners help by being sponsors for these candidates and by their prayerful support.

BAPTISM

The Sacrament of Baptism for infants and small children is celebrated on one Sunday of every month. It alternates between a Sunday Liturgy and a special Baptismal Liturgy at 1:00 pm. Parents planning to have an infant or young child baptized are required to attend instruction sessions prior to the scheduled baptism. In consideration of all those  participating, we ask that you attend without your child, and if possible, before the birth of your child. Godparents are urged to attend these instruction sessions as well. Please contact the Parish Office to register in advance of the baptism. Dates and times for the celebration of the Sacrament and the preparation class are available at the Parish Office and published in the Sunday bulletin.
